About Kwame
As writer/director of multiple award winning drama-shorts, his treatment of story, character and representation combines to form a distinctive and resonant narrative voice. "Finding my voice has been a game-changer - and I'm excited to see how it evolves."
Drawing from 15 years experience as a self-shooting factual film-maker, creative director, editor and producer for international brands - Kwame brings bags of on-set experience to projects. I'm a director who writes, a producer who can also direct, an editor who can also grade and a DoP who shoot stills. My work is really varied, including drama, documentary, branded and performance films.
A self-taught film maker, Kwame has written and directed several short films. ‘Calm’ was selected to several international festivals and nominated for Best International Short Film at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA's) in 2015. His topical youth drama ‘BAiL’ was awarded the Directors Award at Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in 2019 as well as Best Foreign Short Film at Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) 2019. BAiL is also the proud recipient of an African Movie Academy Award (AMMA) for Best Diaspora Short Film 2019.
Kwame is currently writing his first TV series idea and will soon be releasing his first radio play 'Chasing Sunrise'.
